I am currently sorting through inherited items. This is a beautiful, antique Imari ware tea bowl, I believe, from my grandfather's collection, who was a collector of antiques. It features a beautiful indigo blue design of flowers and arabesque patterns. Is it a tea bowl? A matcha tea bowl? It's an antique, a tea ceremony utensil, and a vintage ceramic piece. It appears to be quite old. As it was found in the back of the tea room in the storehouse, I believe it is a tea ceremony utensil. It has a very nice atmosphere. The size makes me think it's not a matcha tea bowl. I think it's a vessel for tea or a tea bowl. I am a novice and don't know for sure, but based on the information about Imari ware I heard from a tea ceremony teacher, I estimate that it is old Imari ware from the late Edo period to the early Meiji period, due to the hand-painted design and the thin glaze. There are numerous small holes on the surface and inside, which are often seen in old items, and I think it has a very nice atmosphere and is an old item. The beautiful flowers, carefully hand-painted with indigo glaze, and the magnificent arabesque patterns that fill the gaps, create a very beautiful atmosphere, and it is a very lovely item. Regular and beautiful patterns are also drawn on the inside, and it is quite impressive. Size: 10.5cm wide, 5.5cm high, and it has a good balance, about the size of a tea bowl or a tea cup. Neither my mother nor I, his grandchildren, are very interested in antiques, and we don't know which works are by whom or what kind of ware they are. I don't know if the items I'm selling are Imari ware, Kutani ware, Shigaraki ware, or Seto ware. Even if they are wonderful works or very expensive items, such as a large number of antiques and works by Living National Treasures, I have no idea of their value.
