I received this from my mother. It's a chic and elegant maroon color. The otaiko (back of the obi) has a gradation of red, deepening from the kanzashi (hairpin) pattern (Image 2). The kanzashi pattern shimmers gold depending on the light. A glowing butterfly is depicted on the kanzashi pattern at the bottom of the otaiko (Image 3). The fabric is smooth. I feel it's a beautiful item. Maroon (enji-iro) is a deep, dark red with a touch of black, a traditional Japanese color that combines calmness and splendor. Thank you for looking.
