This is a decorative folding fan. Is it something to display at celebratory events, or perhaps at a tea ceremony? Or is it simply for interior decoration? It has a very beautiful design. The shape of the fan, which widens towards the end, is considered auspicious, representing prosperity. I have no knowledge of this. I don't know when it's appropriate to display it. If anyone knows, please consider. It was stored in a decorative shelf in a tokonoma (alcove), so it has a slight storage odor. I believe the smell will dissipate while it's displayed.
