This is a modified RAT2 that was done over 10 years ago at a reputable workshop in Kumamoto Prefecture. At the time, I owned a RAT1 (small box), but it didn't have an LED and the vintage casing made it too risky to use live. So, I had it modified to be similar. The modifications are as follows: Replaced the power supply with a standard 9V jack (I think many people find this inconvenient) True bypass to reduce tone loss when connected (The tone loss of the RAT2 is a problem for those who use it in series) The 3-way switch on the top is the key. This is a modification of the classic RAT. Left → Original RAT2 As is Center → Large box reproduction I've never tried the real thing, so honestly, I don't know how accurate it is... It has the highest sound pressure It distorts thickly and mildly, with a fuzz-like quality. It works very well with tube amps It puts a moderate load on the vacuum tubes, resulting in a sound with good note separation. Personally, it doesn't work well with the JC120, which is often used... Right → Reproduction of the original RAT (called RAT1 or small box) It's slightly different when compared side-by-side with the real thing, but the roughness is milder compared to the real thing, making it easier to use in modern music. It doesn't have the thin, raspy high frequencies of the RAT2 It has a certain thickness from the mids to the lows, and it's a very good distortion. I think this sounds good with both tube and transistor amps. The sound is quite practical due to the modifications The modifications alone cost tens of thousands of yen, so the price is higher compared to a standard one. I've owned it for about 10 years without letting it go, but I quit band activities due to the recent coronavirus, and I don't have a chance to use it, so I'm willing to sell it if anyone is interested. I tested the sound before listing it, and there are no particular problems. Please understand that this is a used item.
