This jar was originally used for preserving pickled plums (umeboshi), but it has cracks, so if you put umeboshi in it, the umezu (plum vinegar) would leak out, or salt would crystallize on the surface, making it unusable. I think it could be used for dry items. It's an old item that has been used since the Showa era, so there are scratches and stains. Please check the photos, including the cracks. *Because it is a long-used item, the scent of umeboshi remains. *Although it is a junk item, I think it's a lovely jar with a lot of character, so I couldn't bear to throw it away, and I'm offering it at a bargain price.
