Brand new. I carved it while soaking it in tea until it produced sound. This reed tongue allows me to hold a tone for about 14 seconds in Hirajoshi (a Japanese musical scale). I've used reeds from Udono that were dried in the shade for over 10 years. A cap is also included. Before you rate the item, please try playing a song.
