Artist's Biography: Baiitsu Yamamoto (November 14, 1783 – February 7, 1856) was a Japanese literati painter of the late Edo period. Born in Nagoya, he was a representative painter of the Owari Nanga school. His real name was Akira, his imina was Chikaraaki, and his azana was Meikei. He was born in the year of the rabbit, so his common name was Unekichi. His art names were Shunen, Chikugon, and Baiitsu, which he later adopted. His other art names include Baika Dojin, Gyokuzen, Tendo Gaishi, Kien, Yuchiku Soso, and Hakubaikyo.
