Sinew thread is made to resemble animal tendons, and the wax added to the thread hardens the fibers, increasing its strength. Also, it is a thread that can only be used because it is hand-sewn, and the strength of the thread combined with the hand-sewing results in durable stitching. High-quality vegetable-tanned, glazed, heavily oiled cowhide (saddle leather) is used.
