It can be replaced without major modifications on typical Gibson and Zemaitis guitars. Note that the HISASHI signature model has a nut width of 42mm, but most other models are 43mm, so this is recommended. When installing on a Zemaitis, the Zemaitis nut is easily removed, so replacing it or returning to the original nut should not be difficult. The scalloped nut is famous for being used on original Zemaitis guitars from when Mr. Zemaitis himself was making them, and on GLAY's HISASHI signature model. Even those who do not own a signature Zemaitis can get closer to the look and sound of the original by replacing it with this one. Gibson users such as Les Paul and SG users will find that the unbleached version blends in better visually.
