This is a work from the late Showa 40s (around the 1960s) by Hakubundo. It is an itachi (weasel hair) wolf hair brush. Because it has a short tip, it is suitable for kanji works, especially for tensho (seal script) and reisho (clerical script). I think it has a different flavor from a sheep hair brush. Originally, about 1 centimeter from the base was wrapped with thread, so it is black, but it is not damaged. The brush maker is Kiyokazu Ohto. The engraver is Mr. Sasaki, and it is a valuable item. I remember the list price was 20,000 yen. Since it is not new, please refrain from purchasing if you are sensitive to such things.
