The material has a tweed-like texture, but it's not very thick. I think you can wear it for a wide range of seasons, from autumn to spring. I think it would be very cute and elegant paired with a white knit or cardigan. I wore it about twice with a turtleneck knit underneath, but I don't think there are any noticeable stains.
