The M. SUZUKI. label (6-coin label) is considered the oldest among Masakichi Suzuki labels, and it is believed to have been manufactured around 1895-1900. Compared to the later Masakichi Suzuki labels (which read MASAKICHI.SUZUKI. NAGOYA.NIPPON.), which are somewhat common, this violin has a lighter-colored varnish, and the wood used is of high quality, with careful craftsmanship. There are few of these violins still in existence, and even fewer in playable condition, making them a very rare and historically valuable item. It appears that good quality domestic wood from that time was used, resulting in a truly exquisite piece with a wonderful texture. This violin was made before mass production began in the factory, and Masakichi Suzuki's skill is directly reflected in the high precision and quality of its construction.
