My house has no smokers, so it was surprisingly clean when I took it down. There was some dust, but I've cleaned it to a shine. The remote control can be used for full light, dimming 1, dimming 2, and off. The remote control has some discoloration from sun exposure!?, but it's hardly been used, so there are no functional problems. It wasn't broken; I changed it for a change of pace, so it's a good deal for those who like this design. However, the lamp cover is made of glass, so I'd prefer hand-delivery because I'm worried about it breaking during packing and shipping.
