[8] Shape: Natural stone inkstone with matching lid and engraving. ◉ The Akama inkstone, with its unique reddish hue, is arguably the only one of its kind in Japan. It is characterized by its fine, hard, and dense stone quality, as well as its beautiful stone surface. ◯ This piece is a carefully crafted Akama inkstone with a matching lid and engraving, skillfully utilizing natural stone. As it has a lid, it retains ink well. On the inkstone's edge, there are two brush rests on the right side, and the top is engraved with gourd leaves and vines, with meticulous, fine dotting around them. The lid also has similar dotting, excluding the rim, and the gourd is carved as a knob. On the hill and sea, five pale blue-green star-shaped stone patterns are visible on the characteristic adzuki bean-colored Akama stone, making it unique. The gentle Akamaseki signature is on the back of the inkstone, and the flat processing on the back is quite old. It is a beautiful item, so please consider it.
