A shocking masterpiece mix by Okinawa's national treasure-class genius DJ PIN, themed around reggae and dub, is born! This mix is a recording of his performance at the party "SWEET LEAF" held at Kissa Colors in Sakurazaka, Naha, Okinawa on February 1, 2025. With a lineup featuring TAPES, NOOLIO, HARIKUYAMAKU, and DJ PIN, the atmosphere of an "alternative reggae party" was thick in the air. On this day, while indeed themed around reggae/dub, DJ PIN's completely original and overwhelming play far surpassed those boundaries, leaving us completely mesmerized. TAPES, who was in the crowd, muttered "Crazy....." and raised his fist in the second half. Later, listening to the recorded audio, I was once again amazed by its quality and composition. At the same time, I was excited that this was a new masterpiece mix, joining the ranks of the many masterpieces in that series where everyone freely interpreted and expressed reggae/dub, thinking, "This is totally STRICTLYROCKERS...!" I was convinced that this was not just a DJ mix, but a 60-minute "LIVE" and a "work" that should be preserved in a tangible form. While using reggae/dub sounds throughout, with magical hands, he scratches, cuts up, and collages the atmosphere of deep spots from street corners around the world from various eras, explosively unfolding DJ PIN's psychedelic journey (trip). Within the bizarre, experimental, and deeply abstract original mix, there is also laughter (DJ PIN is laughing throughout the play), and his love and quest for Okinawan music also appear throughout. In the second half, the catharsis when the po-po rhythm box of that Upsetter classic emerges from the murky, chaotic psychedelic~free jazz swamp is unparalleled. The level of completion is unbelievable for a live performance, and the thrilling tension is unique to live performances. Many miraculous moments and developments that cannot be replicated due to on-the-spot inspiration are born, and yet a 60-minute story is firmly completed. I played it only once to import it to my PC.
