This is a lucky wooden mold, carefully carved with a sea bream design. It was used for nerikiri, a type of Japanese confectionery, but the business has closed down, and we've been asked to dispose of it. There are reportedly fewer than 10 wood carvers left in Japan, making this item increasingly rare.
