● Nakizo (Crying Mask) A female mask representing the dignity and solemnity of a goddess. It further emphasizes the refined expression of the Zojo mask. Compared to masks like the Setsugi-Zo, it has a much sterner, more rigid expression that appears to be crying, hence the name. The nose has the same form as the Zojo mask of the Ruimen type, but the shape of the lips is completely different, with a round and large mouth. While the Ko-omote mask gives a sense of purity despite the presence of men around, the Nakizo mask has a sublimity that makes one completely unaware of the existence of men. It is used for the roles of goddesses who require solemnity, such as when emphasizing a divine character and performing the Hagoromo (Feather Robe) dance, or for the shite (principal actor) in "Ema" (Picture Horse). Due to amateur photography, the color may appear different depending on the lighting. However, after purchase, it has been stored in a dark place without being used at all, but there were some minor scratches from when it was received.
