This is a work by Ernest Bussière, an artist who embodies the Art Nouveau style from about 160 years ago. It is being sold on overseas websites for approximately 1.8 million yen (10,500€). I purchased it at an art exhibition at the Kichijoji Tokyu Department Store. Its authenticity was verified at the time of purchase. The neck of the vase features the head of a satyr above the nymph's neck. It is an allegory of a nude woman surrounded by nature, the purest symbol of Art Nouveau. The base of the vase is decorated with gradations of green, gray, and slightly bluish-red-purple ivy. The nymph embraces the vase with both hands, her head resting on her left arm, in a pose as if accepting a kiss.
