This is a summer single-layer Oshima Tsumugi. It's not just a regular Oshima Tsumugi made into a single layer; it's a "summer Oshima," woven specifically for the single-layer season. It's a pale gray with a vertical line gradation created using several soft-colored threads in the warp. I personally love this kimono and have worn it extensively during the single-layer season, from around the end of March to the end of October, pairing it with different obi to suit the season. I took special care of the collar and cuffs, frequently having them cleaned to remove sweat and professionally laundered. I wore it with great care.
