I haven't confirmed if they light up after a battery change, so it's unknown. The lid is also fixed, and I couldn't open it. Since it's an old product, please assume the lights don't work. Please check the condition of the product in the photos. Although there is some age-related deterioration, I didn't find any major noticeable scratches or stains.
