Yoshio Yuda was born in Kitakyūhōjichō, Higashi-ku, Osaka City, Osaka Prefecture in 1909 (Meiji 42). He graduated from Osaka Prefectural Imamiya Junior High School in 1928 (Showa 3) and entered the Second Division of the Humanities at Third High School. After graduating from the same school in 1932, he went on to study Japanese Language and Literature in the Department of Literature at Kyoto Imperial University. He graduated in 1936 and entered the graduate school of the same university. While still at Kyoto University, he became a consultant to the Tenri Library in 1938. Around this time, he moved to Tenri City. He resigned as a librarian at the Tenri Library in February 1939. He completed his graduate studies at Kyoto Imperial University in March 1941 and began working as a consultant at Tenri Junior High School in April 1942. From 1943, he was a professor at Tenri Foreign Language School, and from 1947, a professor at Tenri Language College.
