I purchased this on Amazon and used it a few times. I've only cut my bangs with it, and I've wiped it down carefully each time, so I think it's relatively clean. It's a beautiful item, but since it's used, please refrain from purchasing if you are concerned. There is an instruction manual, but it was folded, so the ink has transferred.
