Giardinelli New York Model: SYM-B Inner Rim Diameter: 26.7mm Cup: Medium Deep Throat Diameter: 7.15mm Similar to: Bach 4G This is a Giardinelli mouthpiece, no longer in production. It's a popular mouthpiece, considered a vintage Giardinelli. The gold plating on the rim was done by the owner. Also, the previous owner has removed the silver plating from the throat. Giardinelli mouthpieces were often used in jazz and pop music, but this particular mouthpiece is the Symphony model. Because the inner rim diameter is slightly wider, it produces a resonant sound, and because it's very light, it also has a good response. Perhaps because the throat has been modified, the mouthpiece sits deeper, resulting in a brighter tone. I used this during my music college days, but I don't play my instrument as much anymore, so I'm selling it. No box included.
