Gyokudo Kawai was a master Japanese painter who was active from the Meiji to the Showa periods and is also known as a recipient of the Order of Culture. His works, which depict the changing seasons of Japan and the people and animals living in the satoyama (rural foothills) with elegant ink lines and colors, are still loved by many people today. There was a copy of the appraisal certificate, but the original is missing. There is a matching box.
