Late 19th century to around 1900, French machine-embroidered tulle lace border. This is an original, unwashed, and unused item that has been stored. The material is a pale cream-colored cotton. Delicate hexagonal tulle, made by machine, is embroidered with floral and delicate wildflower motifs. The delicate filling within the petals, the slightly three-dimensional outlines, and the scalloped hem are all examples of the delicate embroidery of high-quality machine embroidery from that time.
