Although he was a reserve pitcher at Hitachi Daiichi High School, he became the ace at Toin Yokohama University, winning the Yokohama Mayor's Cup MVP in his fourth year. He has been active as an ace since joining Honda, overcoming two left elbow surgeries to make a complete comeback. He is a starting left-handed pitcher who uses a combination of a fastball with a perceived high velocity and a decisive changeup as his weapons. He is 175 cm tall and weighs 84 kg.
