This is a bamboo lacquerware plate from Zohiko, named "Zuiun" (瑞雲). The meaning of "Zuiun" seems to be a word that refers to auspicious signs, a good omen, and the shape of clouds. On Zohiko's online shop, the Zuiun is introduced in two types: gold leaf and silver leaf. They are either entirely gold leaf or entirely silver leaf. However, this Zuiun is very rare. It has a gold leaf base with a cloud-like pattern of silver leaf, and this Zuiun uses both gold and silver. The description says that gold represents longevity and silver represents the light of good fortune. It's so beautiful that it makes my eyes water. Many people are selling Zuiun on Mercari, but it seems that there are none that use both gold and silver together. Oh, there was one person selling a rare item: a silver leaf Zuiun with a dragonfly design. Zohiko says to use it for serving food or sweets, but I'm too frugal to use it. It would be lovely to display it as a decorative plate, perhaps combined with nandina or pachysandra for New Year's decorations. I haven't confirmed it with the item I received, but it appears to be unused, although it has been stored for a long time.
