Made by J.D. Dumont, a porcelain manufacturer. The bottom of the box is stamped "JD Peint a la main" (hand-painted). J.D. Dumont is one of the major manufacturers (workshops) of Limoges porcelain in France. It is particularly famous for its designs featuring floral patterns, such as roses, and gold accents (including 22K gold). Dumont's factory closed in the 1990s, so existing items are vintage or antique and are popular among collectors. Limoges porcelain is famous for its beautiful white porcelain and delicate painting, and Dumont is known for its classical designs. It has been stored in a display case after purchase.
