Balance Scale (Sao Bakari) - Comes with Original Box Size: Rod Length: 22.5cm Plate Diameter: 8cm Weight Diameter: 1.6cm Weight Height: 3cm Weight: 38g Purchased in August 1902 (Meiji 35). Made in Nagoya (possibly). There don't appear to be any broken parts, but please refer to the photos for any dirt or wear, as it is an old item. 〈Reference〉 In the Meiji era, these were widely used as top-pan balance scales (upper rod). You would hang the item to be weighed on the hook of the rod, and place the weight on the hook at the other end of the rod. You would then move the weight until the rod was level. By reading the scale on the rod at the point of balance, you could determine the weight of the item. See photo 15. If you purchase multiple items, we will offer a discount on shipping costs. Please feel free to inquire. Other miscellaneous goods we have for sale can be found here: #雑貨etc ◆ Please read the profile before purchasing. We do not sell on any platform other than Mercari. Please understand and agree to the purchase, acknowledging that this is a used item with minor scratches and small imperfections due to aging and storage in a household environment. 1469
