This is a rare piece by Junpei Kaneshige, the grandson of the Living National Treasure of Bizen ware, Toyo Kaneshige. He is a Bizen artist like his grandfather, but this is an ambitious work with white glaze applied to Bizen clay. The beige-like, bluish skin has crackles and is a very attractive piece.
