Gohon-de Tea Bowl This is a tea utensil from the estate of my mother, a master (with a license) of the Urasenke school of tea ceremony (it was her favorite). Inside the paper box, there was a note that read "Kyosaku Gohon-de Yanagi Chawan" (Made by Kyo, Gohon-de, Willow Tea Bowl). There is a mark on the side of the foot (I am not knowledgeable enough to identify it). A tea bowl with a face, depicting willow branches and leaves, and gold waves? (mountains?) The willow design, which heralds the arrival of spring, is a lucky and protective auspicious pattern. ●Size (approx.) Tea bowl: Diameter 12cm x Height 8.5 cm Paper box: 14cm x 14cm x Height 9cm ●Condition It was stored in a water basin shelf next to the tea room, in a paper box with a noshi (ceremonial paper). I don't think there are any noticeable scratches or stains, but I am not knowledgeable, so please check the photos.
