The body, based on the Sugar Minnow Slim, was designed with the sand lance, a main baitfish in Hokkaido, in mind. However, during testing, it was found to be extremely effective for sea bass, flatfish, and other fish in the surf and bay areas of Honshu. It exhibits a variety of swimming actions: vibration during free fall (with standard hooks, it falls horizontally), rolling on a slow retrieve, and wobbling on a medium retrieve.
