Before the Vandoren 5RVL became the mainstream, the C* was a classic, the standard of standards. I obtained this one some time ago, after hearing that the product lineup and manufacturing methods were changing, and I selected it myself from several pieces. I haven't checked it with a gauge, but there's no unnatural resistance, so I think the tip rail balance is good. There are traces of patches, tooth marks, and discoloration, but I don't think they affect the sound. There is no wear and tear that affects the sound, such as on the inside of the tip. I will include the Selmer ligature in the photo. I also chose this ligature from among many.
