For sale: Gibson Les Paul Classic Plain Top, 1996 model. The HS marking in the front pickup cavity suggests the color is heritage sunburst. This would be equivalent to heritage cherry sunburst in modern Gibsons. Although difficult to see in the photos, there is significant weather checking on the headstock and body due to the lacquer finish. I purchased this guitar used, and the only non-original parts are the strap pins, which have been replaced with locking pins. (Original pins are also included) There is no neck break, which is common, but there is a paint crack near the headstock. There are cracks in the binding, but no areas where it is severely peeling. The pickups are likely the original 490 series or 500 series. In my subjective opinion, there are no issues with playability. Controls function without problems. The frets have approximately 70% life remaining and appear to have been leveled (no grooves). The truss rod has been confirmed to have room for adjustment. The tuning pegs for the 1st and 2nd strings are slightly loose when the strings are not strung, but there seem to be no tuning issues when tuned to regular tuning. Included accessories are a hard case (handle is worn), an expired warranty card, the original strap pins, and a Gibson Lightning Seatbelt (strap). Please understand that the perception of the guitar's condition varies greatly depending on individual subjectivity, and purchase accordingly.
