This is a toso set purchased about 35 years ago. The label on the storage box reads "Black Four-Piece Set, Honmatsu Kuri Ashi, Matsudai, Shochikuume, Wooden Lacquerware" (Photo 20). The inner box contained the toso stand, sake cup stand, and choshi (sake server), but the cups are now separated and stored in a different box. 1) Toso Stand (Photos 3-6) A large pine tree is painted on the front and top. Bamboo and plum blossoms are also scattered throughout, and pine trees are painted on the sides and back. A large seashell is embedded on the front right side (Photo 5). Size: 36.5 x 22.5 x 8cm 2) Sake Cup Stand (Photos 7-12) Like the tray, pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms are painted on the front and top, and small shells are embedded. Pine trees are also painted on the sides and back. Size: 12 x 12 x 12.5cm 3) Sake Cups (Photos 7, 13-16) The sake cups are painted with red lacquer. Inside, the small cup has a pine tree, the medium cup has bamboo, and the large cup has a plum blossom (Photos 14-16). ★ The gold rim of the small pine cup has a chip of about 3mm (Photo 14, lower left). Size: Small cup: Diameter 7cm Medium cup: Diameter 8.5cm Large cup: Diameter 9.5cm 4) Choshi (Sake Server) (Photos 17-19) Pine, bamboo, and plum blossoms are decorated on all surfaces except the back and spout. The inside is beautifully painted with red lacquer. Size: 17 x 11 x 11cm (handle folded), 17.5cm (handle extended) Both the inner and outer boxes are damaged, and the outer box has been repaired.
