This is a homemade two-hook rig for surf fishing. Perfect for multi-species surf fishing, targeting flatfish, greenlings, stone flounder, gobies, eelpout, conger eels, rockfish, sea bass, scorpionfish, and more. As shown in the image, the leader is 3-gauge fluorocarbon Seaguar boat leader, the hooks are Kawasemi Maruseigo size 12, the snap swivels are rust-resistant Ishinada brand, the branch lines use hard pipes, and the main line is 6-gauge nylon. The total length is a slightly long 120cm-130cm, designed to prioritize bite. A key feature is that, based on experience, I feel that avoiding unnecessary decorations improves the bite, so I have intentionally omitted beads. Also, to maximize strength, I use a palomar knot for attaching the leader to the hook. I don't use flatfish hooks, as they can pull out easily, instead opting for Maruseigo hooks. Also, since flatfish are generally caught by allowing them to swallow the bait, and for bottom fish like greenlings and rockfish, flatfish hooks can tear the mouth, increasing the chance of the hook pulling out during the hookset or retrieval. Therefore, I use Maruseigo hooks. I also have other sizes and quantities available, so please take a look.
