The buttons are painted metal, and the previous seller said that the paint on the top button chipped a little when they washed it in a drum-type washing machine (see image 4). I didn't mind it much. I washed it using a laundry net, so it hasn't chipped any further. It's a heavy cardigan, and it's also comfortable to wear, so it was very convenient when it was cold. There's a little sticky residue from a name sticker that was on the brand tag.
