In fact, the spring roller is where the most friction occurs in a drum pedal, and replacing it with a bearing significantly improves the pedal's movement. However, you might hesitate to spend 7,000 yen (14,000 yen for a twin pedal) on a low-cost pedal to install Canopus Speed Master Bearings (formerly Speed Star Bearings). So, we created these grooved bearings. They have a simple shape, with grooves cut into the outer ring of NSK stainless steel bearings (*). They don't have a heavy bearing holder like Speed Master Bearings, so the inertia is smaller, and the movement is more agile.
