In the gloomy mansion, the master, Heathcliff, and his wife, Isabella, live with the servants. That night, Lockwood heard a woman's voice calling Heathcliff from outside the broken window. Heathcliff, upon hearing this, shouted "Cathy!" and rushed outside into the blizzard. Lockwood, left behind, hears from the housekeeper, Ellen, about the past tragedy related to "Wuthering Heights." Earnshaw, the original owner of "Wuthering Heights," was a kind man who took in a poor orphan and raised him as his own, naming him Heathcliff.
