It is made with beautiful Japanese horse chestnut wood with a gradient-like grain, and is precisely crafted down to the smallest details. It comes with an inner lid, so it can be used like a tea caddy for sencha (leaf tea), or if you prioritize the tea ceremony, you can remove the inner lid and use it as a tea container for matcha (powdered green tea). A drawstring pouch (tussah silk fabric) is included as a substitute for a shifuku (tea container bag). It's a small size that fits perfectly in a chabako (tea box), and can be enjoyed as a tool for outdoor tea ceremonies. I haven't been able to keep up with my lessons, and I still haven't mastered the chabako temae (tea ceremony procedure), so I've had it stored away for a long time. I thought I could use it without worrying about the proper etiquette... but I'd like to offer it to someone who will make good use of it.
