This is a tsurube mizusashi (bucket-shaped water container) crafted in the traditional Hida Shunkei lacquerware style. The base is natural wood, finished with lacquer. A characteristic of Shunkei lacquerware is that the freshly applied lacquer has a deep amber color, but as time passes, it gradually fades to a lighter amber, allowing the wood grain to become more prominent, which is part of its charm. It is sold with a paper box.
