I don't think I've worn them much, but there's a little wear around the waist, the corners of the pockets, and the button area. The front has a hidden button closure. The waist is elastic, so you can put them on without unbuttoning. Although they have an elastic waist, they also have belt loops and a hidden button closure, so you can wear them with your top tucked in and still look neat.
