Jiuta is the root of current shamisen music, and in the Edo period, it was performed in western Japan, mainly in the Kamigata region (Kyoto and Osaka), meaning "local (Ji) songs" in contrast to Edo songs. Unlike the strained singing of Nagauta or Joruri, the calm, natural singing close to the natural voice, and the minimalist sound of the relaxed ensemble of shamisen and koto, dispel the image of Japanese music being unsophisticated, and reveal a modest and pure musicality that reflects the Japanese people's ancient fear of nature flowing in their blood. This box set also seems to have "Volume 2" and "Volume 3," so if you collect all volumes, it will be a complete collection of 45 LPs. Some of the records are unused and in good condition.
