This is a Tokkuri (sake bottle) from Soma-yaki, old Soma ware. This is a deformed Tokkuri, warped during firing (it has a shape like abacus beads). The flowing ame-yu glaze has a dynamic design. The age is estimated to be from the late Edo period. There are cracks (kannyu), but these are considered to have occurred during the firing process and are not damage. There is a small chip on the base. It is unclear whether this is a kiln mark or due to aging. Also, there is a mark on the body, less than 1mm, likely caused by a burst (it is very small and difficult to see, but I have noted it to prevent any issues). There are no noticeable scratches or major damage, but as described above, please refrain from purchasing if you are looking for perfection or are overly concerned about details. Thank you for your understanding of antique items. Size: Height approx. 20cm If you purchase immediately, it will be assumed that you have agreed to the description, so please be sure to look at the photos carefully before purchasing to avoid any "it's not what I expected" issues. #Tokkuri #Somayaki #Pot #Folkcraft #Tohoku #Ohorisomayaki #Tobikanna #Fukushima #OldSoma #EdoPeriod #LateEdoPeriod #Potter #Antique #Antiques #OilPot #Tokugawa #Antique #AshGlaze #AmeGlaze #SakeWare #Tsubo #LateEdo #DeformedTokkuri #Kiln P.S. Although listed as Ohori Soma, it may also be Uenome ware.
