The turntable components, including the motor, have been replaced with new, deadstock parts. The case design is a collaboration between Dieter Rams and Hans Gugelot, a professor at the Ulm School of Design, both influenced by the Bauhaus movement, and Wilhelm Wagenfeld, who studied at the original Bauhaus, designed the turntable. Features include a 3-band radio, a friction wheel drive turntable, and a tonearm without anti-skating. The pickup has been modified to a ceramic type for long-term use. To suit modern lifestyles, a Bluetooth board for connecting digital devices like iPhones has been installed, along with a transformer to balance digital/analog connections. The backboard includes connection terminals for external input from devices like iPhones via the included cable, a Bluetooth speaker, and a headphone output jack. Vacuum tubes and capacitors have been replaced. The radio can only receive a few AM/FM stations due to its European frequency bands.
