It's new and unopened, but it has been stored, so the packaging has some minor scratches. I use these in my kitchen to temporarily hang bowls and baskets on the HULTARP rail. However, because the hooks are wide, they may not fit items with small holes for hanging kitchen tools. But, because they are wide, they are more stable and easier to use than S-hooks. There is a hole on the back of the part that hangs on the rail, and I like that it's very convenient to put a rubber band through it to prevent it from falling off the rail.
