Tone springs were developed by focusing on the effect that tremolo springs, which support string tension, have on sound. Springs are also an important factor in building the overtone structure of string vibrations, and especially in floating tremolos, which have few points of support for transmitting string vibrations to the body, the sound image becomes thicker by increasing the number of springs and strengthening its foundation. However, simply increasing the number of springs can cause problems such as making floating impossible or the springs coming off when pulled up because they are fully compressed.
