This is a heavy, 16x26 cm rectangular plate with a simple earthen color and a beautiful verdigris glaze. The earth tones shift depending on the viewing angle. I used these for serving long dishes like sashimi, steak, and grilled fish. This is a set of two plates, each with a slightly different color. The rough surface has a rustic feel. The design of the four corners curves inward, preventing sauces from spreading. I'm not sure which pottery these are from, but my family often bought pieces they liked at pottery exhibitions and markets. The texture is similar to Mashiko-yaki pottery, but I'm not certain. There is a stamp on the back (the characters are unknown). I'm selling these as I'm decluttering my dishes for a move, so I hope they can go to someone who doesn't mind them being used.
