This is a Noh mask, "Zojo," made by my grandfather, who was a miyadaiku (temple carpenter) in Iwate Prefecture, during his later years at home. His works were highly regarded and were even lent out to temples and stage performances. It has a dignified expression, both sorrowful and refined.
