Found this while cleaning out my in-laws' house. The tip of the blue oni's horn is chipped, but it's been touched up with green marker, so it's not very noticeable. I'm listing this in the hopes that it can be used by families with young children who enjoy the "bean-throwing" event during the February Setsubun festival. Even though I say "young," children younger than kindergarten age might get scared. It could be fun once they start enjoying it as an event in kindergarten, making the bean-throwing more concrete and interesting. If there are older elementary school kids around, you could hang it from the ceiling and have them aim at it from a certain distance, throwing one bean at a time to see how many they can hit. They might even get hooked! I hope to preserve Japan's rich traditional events and culture, especially in the memories of young children.
